Butch Alton Elam

Mr. Butch Elam, 81 of Ira,TX passed away on Monday, October 30, 2023 at his home in Ira.

Butch Elam was born on Tuesday, June 16, 1942 in Ochelata, OK to Richard and Birdie(Coonfield) Elam. He married Dorma Bennett on Wednesday, June 12, 1963 in Snyder, TX.

Butch Elam moved to Ira in 1952, and in his time dedicated 29 years of service and work to Calley and Fowler as a backhoe operator. He was well known for his operating skills and for his precision when digging a ditch or finding an underground pipeline without damaging them. After his time with the company he found joy being surrounded by his grandkids, and great-grandkids.

He is survived by;

His daughter,

Carolynn Botts and Husband Billy, Ira, TX.

Two Sons,

Charles Elam,

Jimmy Elam and Wife Lynda.

One Brother,

Jack Elam.

Eight grandchildren,

Many Great-Grandchildren,

And his Great Aunt,

Emma Lou Gray

He was preceded in death by;

His parents,

Richard Henry Elam,

and Mother Birdie Pierce(Coonfield),

His wife,

Dorma Elam(Bennet).

Four Brothers,

Pete Elam,

Tom Elam,

Joe Elam,

and Jerry Elam.
