Charlene married Morris Light in Snyder on March 14, 1965. Morris and Charlene raised their children, Larry and Leslie, in Snyder where she taught at Hermleigh High School and Western Texas College. She served on the SISD Board of Trustees for several years. Later in her career she worked as a counselor at Snyder High School, where she was passionate about helping students recognize their potential and achieve their academic goals. She retired in 2003. Charlene was also a long-time member of First Baptist Church.
As a loving wife, devoted mother, cherished sister, doting aunt and educator, she touched many lives. She was known for her bright eyes and beautiful smile. As Alzheimer's gradually took Charlene from this world, she never lost her sense of fun, kind-heartedness and love for music. All those who loved her are grateful she is now healed and at peace.

The family request that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to D.M. Cogdell Memorial Hospital Foundation at P.O. Box 1181, Snyder, TX 79550 or Scurry County Friends of the Library at 1916 23rd Street, Snyder, TX 79549 or a charity of your choice.
