Charles Lee Rinehart

Charles Lee Rinehart, 85, passed away on Saturday, July 09, 2022 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born on April 15, 1937 in Snyder, Texas to his parents Thomas Oddist Rinehart and Connie Velora Williams. Charles proudly served in the Air Force. He graduated from Hermleigh High School in 1958.

Charles was a great father who worked very hard to provide for his family. He enjoyed spending time with them as he and Nelda have 4 children, 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren with the news of - one on the way. He had a passion for gardening and loved his old Western movies.  After retiring, Charles and Nelda loved to travel in their RV.

His children described him as the "Strongest man they have ever known" in character, strength and spirit. He was a man of faith that loved his wife and made sure his children respected and cherished their mother as much as he did. His grandchildren describe their Papa as:  steadfast, godly, persistent, generous, loving, admirable, clever, passionate, goofy & funny.  Charles (Uncle Charles) (Papa) (Dad) will be dearly missed by those who knew him and who loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Oddist and Connie Velora Rinehart, his brother Kenneth Rinehart, sisters Maybell Whitehead, Dorothy Francis and Margie Blanton, and Grandson Corey Grider.

Charles is survived by his wife Nelda Rinehart; children Renee Grider, Lynn Rulong, Kenneth Rinehart
and Paul Rinehart; his grandchildren, great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends are invited to visit with the family on Wednesday, July 13, 2022 from 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. in the chapel of Sterling-White Funeral Home, 11011 Crosby-Lynchburg Rd. Highlands, Texas 77562. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, July 15, 2022 at Scurry County Snyder Cemetery in Snyder, Texas. In lieu of flowers, the family requested donations to be made to the Shriners Hospitals for Children at LoveShriners.org
