Clifton Gerald Smith

Mr. Clifton Gerald Smith, 82, of  Snyder, TX  died on Saturday, February 29, 2020 at his residence in Snyder.

Services for Mr. Smith will be held on Wednesday, March 4, 2020 at 10:00 am at Colonial Hill Baptist Church in Snyder, TX with Pastor Reid Johnson and Pastor Tony Wofford officiating.   Interment will follow at Hillside Memorial Gardens. Services are under the direction of Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home.

Mr. Smith was born November 23, 1937 to L.W. and Beatrice (Barnett) Smith in Amarillo, TX.  He married Nancy Lee Dorman on May 28, 1983 in Las Vegas, NV.  Mr. Smith served in the United States Navy from November 1955 to December 1958 where he worked in biological warfare and with the canine unit.   He was an insurance agent until his retirement.

Mr. Smith served on the board of Noah’s Project and was a former Lion’s club president and faithful member.  He was a member of Colonial Hill Baptist Church and served as an Adult Bible Study teacher.

He is survived by:

His wife:  Nancy of Snyder.

Two Brothers:  Wayne Smith of Lake Proctor, TX and David Coats of North Carolina.

One Sister:  Esther Roper of Clifton, TX.

Two Children:  Allen & Gini Grimmett; and Steve & Tammy Grimmett – all of Snyder.

Six Grandchildren :

Three Grandsons: Reese & Tara Grimmett; Brad & Michelle Grimmett; and Blake and Cassie Grimmett.

Three Granddaughters: Jennifer Jones; Ashley & Luke Thomas; and Breann Smith.

Eight Great Grandchildren :  Kirsten Lee; Avery & Kinlee Thomas; Rantley Grimmett; Fayth Grimmett; Rylann & Hayes Grimmett; and Bryce Jones.

Mr. Smith was preceded in death by one daughter, Paula Grimmett; his parents; and one sister.

Visitation for Mr. Smith will be held Tuesday, March 4 from 6:00 to 7:00 pm at Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home.
