In Loving Memory of David Joe-Neal Lane

On April 10, 2025, the world lost a truly one-of-a-kind soul. David Joe-Neal Lane passed away at the age of 52, leaving behind a life full of heart, humor, and hands that never stopped building, fixing, helping or riding motorcycles. His story began in Snyder, Texas, where he was born on July 31, 1972.

He was a father, son, brother, grandfather, uncle, and loyal friend — but more than that, he was a protector, a creator, a storyteller, and a spark in the lives of everyone lucky enough to know him. A gentle soul with the heart of a warrior, he leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, grit, and generosity.

He was a defender at heart, looking out for those he loved fiercely and without hesitation. He was a jokester through and through — always ready with a harmless prank, a laugh that filled the air, and a knack for turning everyday moments into unforgettable memories.

To know him was to know a man who gave selflessly — whether it was building a motorcycle from nothing, fixing whatever needed fixing, or simply showing up when someone needed help. He had a passion for working with his hands, especially anything with wheels. Popping wheelies and riding with the wind in his face brought him pure joy. For him, building bikes wasn’t just a hobby — it was an art, an expression of his spirit.

Nature called to him — hunting, casting a line, or just being outside. He found peace there. His presence was grounding, his hugs were healing, and his spirit will echo in every story.

He leaves behind a legacy of perfectly timed jokes, unwavering loyalty, and unforgettable rides. His was a life lived fully, boldly, and entirely on his own terms — and that’s exactly how he’ll be remembered.

He is preceded in death by his father Earl Lane

He is survived by his son Colton Lane and wife Angela, daughter Cenna Lane and Fiancé Justin Shipman, all of Snyder. Two granddaughters Natalie Sescil and Lindsey Lane, two grandsons Weston Sescil and Tucker Lane of Snyder. His mother Blanche Lane and companion Russell Custer of Snyder, three sisters Tracy McBeth and husband Carlos, Katy Beall and husband Jack, Betty Clement and husband Jeff. Nieces Nikki Cabrera and husband Joseangel of Snyder, Kristina Rodriguez and husband Christian of North Dakota, and Heather Hill and husband Cory of Coahoma. Nephews Brandon Crane of Snyder, Shane Hicks and wife Meghan of Bryan, and Jeremy Crane of New Mexico. Numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, great nieces and nephews.
