David "Mike" Michael Trull

February 3, 1947 — February 24, 2021

Longtime Snyder resident David Michael “Mike” Trull Sr. died Tuesday February 24, 2021, at Cogdell Memorial Hospital in Snyder.

Services will be held at Saturday, February 27, at 10 AM at the Bell Cypert Seale Chapel under the direction of Bell Cypert Seale Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Hillside Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held Friday, February 26 from 6-7 PM.

Mike was born February 3, 1947 in Levelland, Texas to Charlie Carl Trull and Nellie Norean (Haney) Trull in Levelland, Texas. He was the seventh of eight children. He grew up in the farming and oil field communities of the South Plains graduating from Sundown High School.

He attended South Plains College where he majored in playing pool. He married his high school sweetheart and lifetime love Mary Lee (Miller) Trull June 29, 1967.

He and Mary Lee moved their young family to Snyder in 1973. Mike spent his career working in oil field sales. He retired from Production Pump in May 2018.

Mike coached Little League and pee wee football. He served on the board of directors of the Boys Club for several years. After his kids were grown, Mike pursued his passion of music, forming several Country and Western bands playing around private parties and small venues around West Texas including White Buffalo Days and the Senior Citizen Center. Most recently he was part of Mike and Last Call, the house band at the Sweetwater VFW where he had the opportunity to open for Bobby Flores and Jake Hooker.

In addition to his band, Mike loved playing music with his brother for his extended family at the Trull Family Rally. He also enjoyed gardening, fishing, and cooking for his family. It was his family that was his dearest passion. He looked forward to Christmas celebrations and his and Mary Lee’s Fourth of July cookout.

Mike was a man of big personality and an even bigger heart. He was the guy that you wanted to hang out with because of his quick wit and generous spirit. He has left a legacy of love and laughter for his family and friends. He was a Christian and a member of the Church of Christ.
