Dixie Tucker Brooks, 86, of Snyder, TX passed away peacefully in her home on Saturday, May 14, 2022.
A graveside service for Mrs. Brooks will be held on Tuesday, May 17, 2022 at 10:00 am in Hillside Memorial Gardens under the direction of Bell-Cypert-Seale with Roy Rosson and Reverend Alan Culp officiating.
Dixie was born on August 22, 1935 in Tipton, OK to Coy and Audra Tucker. When she was 8 yrs old, her family moved to Seagraves, TX and it’s there that she made many of her fondest memories and lifelong friends.
In 1954, she met the love of her life, Martin Brooks. They married on May 8, 1955 and were blessed with 65 years of marriage until Martin’s death in 2020. Shortly after their marriage, they moved to Snyder and made it their home.
Dixie will be remembered for her humor, gift of gab and story telling, generous spirit and her love of all things red and Coca Cola. She was a lifetime member of the Church of Christ and lived out her faith daily.
She was proceeded in death by her spouse, Martin, and her parents. Although they never had biological children, she was a mother figure to many over the years. She is survived by her adopted extended family Carolyn Jeter, Tammy Davis, Jennifer Calley, Joe and Vicki Hodge, Angie Kahn, and Basilia Rodriguez. A special thanks to her caregivers, Teresa Lopez and Mariah Garces, as well as Cogdell Memorial Hospice for their kindness and exceptional care in her last days.
