Mrs. Doris Marie Voss, 84 of Snyder,TX died on Saturday, September 28, 2019 at Good Life Senior Living in Snyder, Texas

Services for Mrs. Voss will be held on Tuesday, October 01, 2019, at 2:00 PM at 37th St. Church of Christ with Mr. Darrell Chappell officiating. Internment will follow at Hillside Memorial Gardens. Services are under the direction of Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home.

Mrs. Voss was born on September 10, 1935 in Colorado City, TX to Huron and Ethel (Luce) Gist.She married Billy Voss on March 02, 1955 in Colorado City, TX. he preceded her in death on April 11, 2018.

Marie was an avid horsewomen since her birth. She passed on this passion to her daughters, grandchildren and her great grandchildren. Marie won multiple barrel racing championships, including the West Texas Barrel Racing Association, Texas Barrel Racing Association and Stamford Cowboy Reunion, multiple buckles, saddles and a horse trailer.

Along with her husband, Bill Voss, they were the original owners and operators of Voss C & C Farms, where cotton and cattle were the mainstays of the family farm. Mother gardened and sewed clothes for her three daughters and herself for many years. Also, mom trained horses, worked cattle, cooked three meals a day and believed a clean and organized home and life were very important to a stable household, which she ran very efficiently and modeled and excellent work ethic with her family.

Mom will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. She left a true legacy behind for us to follow.
