Dorothy Mae Atkinson

Mrs.Dorothy Mae Atkinson, 86 of Snyder,TX died on Thursday, July 19, 2018 in Snyder at her residence.

Services for Mrs. Atkinson will be held on Monday, July 23, 2018 , at 2:00 PM at First United Methodist Church with Reverend Kevin Phillips officiating. Internment will follow at Hillside Memorial Gardens. Services are under the direction of Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home.

Mrs. Atkinson was born on Saturday, December 12, 1931 in Caddo, TX to David Arthur and Goldie Louise (Shaffer) McCarthy .She married Kenneth Atkinson on Saturday, January 22, 1949 in Breckenridge, Tx. He preceded her in death on December 8, 2007. Dorothy was a member of the First United Methodist church in Snyder and worked as a bookkeeper for Southern Electric. She often volunteered in the church office. She was a square dancer and loved to bake and cook. She also was an avid watcher of Wheel of Fortune and loved to travel.

She is survived by:

She was preceded in death by:
Her husband Kenneth

Mary Cox, Margaret Kinny and Betty Atkinson
2) Brothers:
David and Joseph McCarthy

Visitation will be held Sunday, July 22, 2018 from 5 PM to 6 PM at Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home.
