Douglas Herbert Merritt

Mr. Douglas Herbert Merritt, 82 of Coppers Cove,TX formerly of San Saba and Snyder, Texas died on Monday, March 12, 2018 in Temple, Texas.

Services for Mr. Merritt will be held on Monday March 19, 2018, at 2:00 PM at Faith Baptist Church with Reverend Bill Slaymaker and Reverend Red Watson officiating. Internment will follow at Snyder Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home.

Mr. Merritt was born on a farm outside Snyder on Thursday, August 01, 1935. to Lloyd Harvey and Pauline (Walton) Merritt. He served his country for 20 years retiring as a CW4 in the Army. He then served the state of Texas working alongside law enforcement as a Probation and Parole officer, Director of a Restitution center and as a Parole hearing analyst. He has faithfully served the Lord, very rarely missing church on Sunday mornings, even when he traveled. He also was a Mason and a 32nd degree Scottish rite.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Shirley Merritt; brother, Glen H. Merritt and sister, Vivian Merritt Renfro.

Visitation will be held Monday, March 19, 2018 from 11 AM to 12 Noon at Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home.
