Drake Alexander Bolano was born to Connie Cross and Tony Bolano on July 10, 1996, in Fort Worth, Texas. Drake was a kind, loving and adventurous young man who always had a smile on his face. He was loud, gregarious and prideful, but humble and kind. Drake had a burning desire to join the military, yet was not sure which branch he wanted to serve his Country in. His Dad, Tony served in the Army and was a Vietnam Veteran, something Drake was extremely proud of. By the middle of his Jr. year of High School, Drake told his Mom he wanted to be a Marine and serve his Country. Drake went on to graduate high school 2014 and immediately entered the Marine Corps. Drake married his high school sweetheart, Elizabeth Le soon after and began his military career and although things didn’t work out for them, they remained friends. Drake was 2 nd Battalion 4 th Marines, known as the “Magnificent Bastards”. He was in “Fox Company, 3 rd Platoon, also known as the Raiders. Drake loved his “brothers” and spoke of all of them highly and often.
Drake struggled to find his place in Civilian life but soon began working his way towards a new career as an EMT/Firefighter. He recently received his certificate of graduation from the North Texas Fire Fighter Academy and had completed his studies thru their EMT course as well. He was in the process of getting his national certification as an EMT. Drake had a way with children and was loved by all his many cousins.
Drake is preceded in death by his Father, Tony Bolano, Uncles Raul and Gilberto Bolano, his brother Jesus “Junior” Bolano, both paternal grandparents and his Nana Beverly Preston Jacoby and grandmother LaNelle Cross.
He is survived by his Mom, Connie Cross and Richard Derrick of Princeton, Tx., his brother Pierce Bolano and Sophie Olsen of Lewisville, Tx., his sister Grace Bolano Cruz of Miami, Fl., his Grandfather Alex Cross of Snyder, Tx., step-brother(s) Corey Millhollon and Casey Jobe of Shady Shores, Tx., David Millhollon of Shady Shores; Aunt Kayla Boland and David of Mesquite, Tx., Aunt Suzanne Swiney and Robert of Snyder, Tx., Grandpa Stewart Jacoby of Corpus Christi, Tx, His Marine Corps brothers, numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
A private family service will be held Saturday, January 30, 2021.
