Edna Anderson

1931-2022

Edna Mae Sells Anderson, 90, went to her heavenly home Thursday, March 17th, 2022.
Her funeral service will be held at 2 PM, Thursday, March 31st, 202 2 at 37th Street Church of Christ, officiated by Mr. James Brown in Snyder, Texas. Burial will follow at Hillside Memorial Gardens under the direction of Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home.
Edna was born on September 1st, 1931 in Meadow, TX to Mike and Fleta Gibson Sells.
The Sells family moved out in the country, on a farm, outside Lake Creek Oklahoma when Edna was two months old. Edna started Reed, Oklahoma schools in the 2nd grade.
She graduated from Reed High School in 1950 as the Salutatorian of her class.
Edna and her sister, Wanda, moved to Snyder in 1951. One of their five brothers, Check, was working for an oil company in Snyder so they decided to join him in this west Texas Oil-Booming town. Edna started working at Snyder Drug Store when she was 19. She went to work for Snyder National Bank (which is now Community Bank of Snyder) on August 1st, 1955.
Edna worked in bookkeeping, and every other department at the bank, working her way up the ladder. She was the first female Vice President at Snyder National Bank. She retired on her 52nd anniversary at the bank on August 1st, 2007.
Edna married Jim Anderson on July 20th, 1974.
Edna has been the biggest blessing to the Anderson family. She has been the best wife, mom, friend, and Christian example to all of us!
The quote that Edna was known to say is: "Life is what you make it." She never worried, complained, or became angry; always gave her cares and concerns to God.
Edna was always serving others; always giving in any and every area needed. She was a very faithful member of 37th Street Church of Christ.
Edna was a Proverbs 31 woman: A wife of noble character. She is worth far more than rubies. Her husband has full confidence in her and lacks nothing of value. She brings him good, not harm, all the days of her life. Her husband is respected in the city. She works without idle hands. She provides food for her family. She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue. She watches over the affairs of her household. Her children arise and call her Blessed; her husband also, and he praises her. Many women do noble things, but she surpasses them all. Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.
Survivors include: her husband, Jim Anderson; daughter, Carla Frederick and husband Richard of Kilgore, TX; daughter, Jami Anderson of Abilene, TX; granddaughter, Kristie (Anderson) Brown of Rockport, TX; nephew, David Sells and his wife Carla of Plainview,TX; niece Debbie (Land) Capps and her husband Phil of Little Rock, AR; many more nephews and nieces; and many friends, brothers and sisters in Christ.
She was preceded in death by her parents; five brothers, JB, Ray, Orval, Check (Chesalee), and Glenn Sells; one sister, Wanda (Sells) Land.
No visitation is planned
