Elizabeth Jewell Scarberry

Mrs. Elizabeth Jewel Scarberry, 79 of Mead, Oklahoma went to dance in the streets of gold with her Lord and Savior Monday, March 7 th with the love of her life Cloyce holding her hand and surround by family.

Elizabeth was born May 26, 1942 in Clay County, Texas. She married the love of her life Cloyce in Electra on April 4, 1964. They spent their lives devoted to each other and shared a bond that even her illness could not steal away. Elizabeth and Cloyce made their home in Snyder, Texas for over 40 years retiring from the Scurry County Auditor’s Office. She was known by her family as “Midget” and dearly loved her many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was active member of First Baptist Church where she served in many areas. After retirement, her and Cloyce hit the road and fulfilled their dream of traveling. The worked their way around the country in various RV campgrounds, enjoying the beautiful scenery of our nation, and were active in the Baptist Church Builders of Texas organization. When the time came to end their roaming, they settled near the shores of Lake Texoma.

She is survived by her husband Cloyce; Two daughters Lea Ann Gambrell and husband Brad and Kelly Warren and husband Scott; Grandchildren Zack Warren and fiancé Kristen, Mallorie Sorrells and husband Duncan, Kylie Collier and husband Todd, Wyatt Gambrell, and Laramie Gambrell; Great Grandson Kallon Bell and soon the arrival of a new great grandbaby girl. She is also survived by her sister Jackie Harris and husband Travis; and brother Randell Lucas and wife Joan.

She is preceded in death by her birth-parents Jack and Elizabeth Baughtman; 2 brother Jack and Donnie Lucas; her adoptive parents Roy and Alice Lucas; 1 sister Paulette and husband Donald Hughes; her nephew Steven Hughes.
