Geraldine Parker

Mrs. Alice Geraldine Parker of Snyder,TX passed away on February 06, 2019 in Snyder.

Services for Mrs. Parker will be held on Saturday, February 09, 2019, at 2:00 PM at Roby Cemetery with Mr. Ray Orr officiating. Services are under the direction of Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home.

She was born August 7, 1930, at home near Roby, TX. Her parents were Perry and Jewel Cummings. She married Jack Parker of Roby on January 27, 1949; he passed away May 3, 1960. She received a degree in education from Hardin Simmons University. She worked for Sweetwater ISD 11 years, teaching 4th and 6th grades, and as a high school supervisor in the special needs program. She worked for Snyder ISD for 16 years as a principal at Northeast and West elementary schools. After her retirement she taught adult education at Western Texas College for 10 years. She also served two terms as a trustee on the Snyder School Board. She was an active member of the Scurry County Retired Teachers Association and the First Baptist Church; in 2017 she received recognition from Delta Kappa Gamma as a 50 year member.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Jack Parker, parents Perry and Jewel Cummings, brother, Roy Cummings, and son, Jerry Parker.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Margaret and David Cunningham, daughter-in-law, Karen Parker, four granddaughters; Stacey and Lacey Parker, Kate and Andrew Johnes and Abby and Eric Stinehart; three great grandchildren; Ellie and Evelyn Johnes, and Christofer Stinehart and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

She loved all her family and friends dearly. Thank you to all who cared for her the last few years.

Visitation will be held Friday, February 08, 2019 from 6 PM to 7 PM at Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home.
