Mr. Howard Leslie Jones, 88, of Snyder, Texas died on Monday, December 16, 2019 in Snyder in the loving presence of his family.

A Memorial Service for Mr. Jones will be held on Wednesday, December 18, 2019 at 10:00 AM at Colonial Hill Baptist Church in Snyder.  Rev. Tony Wofford and Rev. Reid Johnson will officiate.  Services are under the direction of Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home.

Mr. Howard Leslie Jones was born on Monday, November 23, 1931 in Carrollton, KY to Carroll and Frankie (Tetters) Jones.  He was married to Dolores Marie (Ellis) Jones for 62 years.

Mr. Jones is survived by his wife, Dolores, of Snyder;

Two Daughters:

Kathy Vickers and spouse, Dane, of Snyder;

Kelly Jones of Snyder;

And one grandson, Jarrett Vickers, of Shamrock, Texas.

He is also, survived by two brothers:

Larry Jones and Lonnie Jones: both of Kentucky

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Mr. Jones was the owner / operator of Western Mowing Company; doing contract work for major oil companies.  He served in the United States Navy and was an avid fisherman.  Howard loved baseball and played semi-pro ball.  He was a Texas Rangers fan.

He played basketball while in the Navy.  His basketball accomplishments in Junior College led to his induction into the Howard County Junior College Hall of Fame.
