Imogene "Gene" Thomas

Imogene (Gene) Thomas passed away August 2nd at Cogdell Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 6th @ 2:00 pm at the First Baptist Church with Pastor Ben Reid officiating. Internment will follow at Hillside Memorial Gardens. Services are under the direction of Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home.

Visitation will be held Monday from 5-7 pm at Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home.

Gene was a beautician in Snyder for many years and an active member at the First Baptist Church since 1954.

Gene was born June 7, 1922 in Mingus, TX to George and Gertrude Penix. She graduated high school at Leuders, TX and later married her high school sweetheart, Lewie Thomas.
Gene and Lewie lived in Leuders, Fort Worth, Ranger and the last sixty five years in Snyder.

Survivors include her three sons, Leslie and wife Debbby of Snyder, Glenn and wife Linda of Abilene and John and wife Janey of Canyon.
Nine grandchildren, Mike Todd, Alicia, Bryant, Randall, Rocky, Jay, Brian and Wendy.
Twenty One great-grandchildren, Hunter, Josiah, Issac, Austin, Ashley, Colby, Erin, Jonathan, Leah, Keira, Kateland, Aiden, Jocelyn, Kinsley, Kennedy, Renee, Nikki, Brandi, Madyson, Makalya and Jesse, along with a growing number of great-great-grandchildren.

Gen was preceded in death by her parents, George and Gertrude Penix. Two sisters, Thedora Newsome and Alburtus Higgs and loving husband of 76 years, Lewie Thomas.
