James O. Littlepage, Jr. 88 passed away on Monday, June 15, 2020. A graveside service will be
held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday at Hillside Memorial Gardens
under the direction of Bell-Cypert-
Seale Funeral Home
with the
Pastor Kevin Phillips officiating.
James was born on December 1, 1931, in Scurry County, to James and Marie (Turner)
Littlepage. He graduated from McMurry College in 1953 with a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics
and earned a Master of Education from Texas Tech University in 1968.
James married Jo Ann Pearson on August 14, 1954 in Fannin County. They celebrated 65
years of marriage. He loved his family and treasured spending time with them hunting
arrowheads, fishing, and going on road trips. He enjoyed woodworking and many of his
carpentry pieces are now treasured family heirlooms.
James taught high school mathematics at Snyder High School for 33 years, retiring in 1988. As
a member of the Scurry County Texas Retired Teachers Association, he served as president for
one year. He helped organize the Scurry County School Federal Credit Union serving as the
manager for 40 years and serving on the Board of Director for 50 years. He was also a member
of the First United Methodist Church in Snyder and served on the Finance Committee for many
years.
Survivors include his wife, Jo Ann of Snyder; a son, Bryan Littlepage of Kenner Louisiana; two
daughters, Debra Kesseler of Houston, and Karen Waller and her husband, Jay of Ira; six
grandchildren, Krista Kesseler of Houston; Elizabeth and her husband Nick Saybe, of Kenner,
Louisiana; Kevin Kesseler of Houston; Kaci Lollar and her husband, Joel of Ira; Alexander P.
Littlepage, of Metairie, Louisiana; and Kyler Kesseler, of Houston; three great grandchildren;
and a sister Jean Everett of Snyder.
The family wants to thank Comfort Keepers and James’s special caregivers who gave freely of
their time, care and love during his year-long battle with Lymphoma.
