Jerry Weldon Mcclain

Mr. Jerry Weldon McClain fell asleep in death on Monday, March 8, 2021,
at the age of 84. He was a long-time resident of Snyder, Texas. Many
knew him as Mr. Punkin or just Jerry but to his family he was Pappa. He
was a strong man in every sense of the word. If you ever drove down Ave
E. and passed by his house you would most likely have seen him in the
back yard creating beautiful wooden wells, wheel barrows and many other
things that can be seen in yards all around town. When he wasn’t out back
he most likely could be found at the park picking pecans, or out at the
Spires Ranch setting traps or hunting, and fishing.
Mr. McClain was family not only to his blood relatives but many others.
Musslewhite, the Harts, as well as the Spires family gave love, support and
respect as he did to them. Mr. McClain loved his family and dedicated his
life to providing for them.
He was married to Ollie Pearl from October, 1957 to April, 2016 when she
preceded him in death. They had a relationship that truly personified how
love endures all through Sickness and in health. They raised 5 children
together.
His daughter Debra Ann Ruffin fell asleep in death in 2016; she truly was a
daddy’s girl.
Two grandsons also preceded him in death Tyrone Johnson, and Keith
Allen McClain II.
Mr. McClain was preceded in death by 4 brothers Billy, ONeil, and Ls
McClain and Wade Garrett; 4 sisters Estelle Houston, Gladys Wells,
Thelma Vine, and Jessie Faye Asberry.
He is survived by 2 daughters, Terri Van Winkle, Sharon Roque and her
husband James as well as 2 sons Larry Johns and wife Denise , Keith
McClain, and his wife Cynthia, who tirelessly cared for him during his
illness. He is survived by 2 sisters Easter Smith and Bessie Perkins; 3
brothers Kenneth McClain, Terry McClain and Eddie McClain. He has 16
grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren.
His family would like to thank any and all who have assisted and given
support to Mr. McClain and the family through his illness.

Memorial Service will be held to celebrate the life of Mr. McClain via Zoom
on
Saturday, March 20, 2021 at 3:00 p.m.
