Johnny Leon Huddleston was born August 15,1936 in Snyder, Texas to Aubrey and Velma Huddleston.
Leon attended Ira Schools and participated in all sports and extracurricular activities. He married the love of his life, Darla Kaye Bryant on June 13, 1958. Leon and Darla made their home in southwest Scurry County where he farmed cotton, raised cattle and was employed at Texas Electric for thirty- six years.
In those early years the family grew with the additions of Kathy, Cindy, and Kevin. Leon was an elder and song leader at the Ira Church of Christ and was involved in numerous community activities. He served as president of the Ira Lions Club and coached Little League baseball. He was instrumental in petitioning the Scurry County Commissioner’s Court for the construction of the community baseball field which later served as the field for Ira High School.
Leon passed from this life on Thursday, May 30, 2024
The family is appreciative to Mitchell County Skilled Nursing and Rehab Center and the local Hospice caregivers.
Leon is preceded in death by his parents, Aubrey and Velma and his brother, Donald.
He is survived by wife, Darla of Snyder

Leon had countless hobbies and enjoyed managing his collection of collections including knives, marbles, belt buckles, and more. His greatest collection remains, the gathering of friends, family and a lifetime of good memories.
Family visitation will be held at Cypert-Seale funeral home on Friday evening, May 31.
A celebration of his life will take place on Saturday, June 2 at the 37th Street Church of Christ in Snyder, Texas. The burial will take place at the Ira Cemetery following.
