Johnnye married Jack Warren on August 1, 1961 and immediately moved to Saudi Arabia where Jack was employed by British Petroleum.  Their daughter, Tomibeth Brooks, attended 1 st grade in a British compound for the children of the American oil workers.  After returning to Snyder, they began an 18 year career of farming cotton and ranching in Scurry, Kent and Garza counties.  Johnnye took every step Jack took while making a loving home for their family. In 1981, they moved to San Angelo where Jack worked as an independent oil and gas consultant until his retirement in 1987.  Johnnye was then able to pursue her God Given talent of artistic design.  Her creativity fostered a beautiful friendship with Joyce Wilde and J Wilde’s in San Angelo.  Her creations could be found in the home of Clint Eastwood, the Plaza Hotel for Donald and Ivana Trump and creative gifts for Dannielle Steele.  Funny thing is that Johnnye would never tell you these things.  She was humble in her life, work and everything else except for her children and grandchildren.  Johnnye never missed an opportunity to gush about the family she loved so much.

Johnnye never missed a tennis tournament, school event or anything else her children were involved with.  Johnnye was as dependable as the sun rising in the east.  Her love was unconditional and unwavering.  She made the world a better place.

Our family sincerely appreciates your love and kindness during the past month and during her brief illness.  Never a sweeter woman in the world, her feisty personality and outlook made her seem larger than life.  Everywhere we look, her presence is felt in every aspect of her family's life. We were so blessed to have had her for 88 wonderful years.  We were selfishly struggling with how to let her go when we realized that she will never really leave us.  Her friends at the local Whataburger will sorely miss her daily visits.  She may not be mowing her yard on her John Deere lawnmower with her Prada sunglasses mended with duct tape, but her influence in our lives will live on forever.  What an incredible gift.  A West Texas lady in the truest form, she leaves behind a legacy of love, unwavering faith, family dedication and a love of the USA...especially our military and the United States Marine Corp.  Mother, you outdid yourself and you have earned your place in eternity beside our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.  This is not goodbye...we will see you again and we cannot wait.  We love you with all our hearts.
