Juanita, the youngest of five children was born in rural Scurry County, to Olen and Etta Dixon, on July 02, 1927. Shortly after grauduating from High School in 1945, in nearby Hobbs, TX, Juanita was employed at Stinson Drug Store in Snyder, where she met Sgt. Ordon P. Benbenek, home on fulough from the U.S. Army. Following Ordon's discharge at the end of World War II, they were married on November 30, 1946. They had one son, Daren, born in 1962. Ordon and Juanita were together 52 years, at the time of Ordon's passing, in 1998.

Ordon and Juanita relocated, briefly, to several different communities throughout Texas, always returning home to Snyder. They returned permanently, in 1969, to focus on family and career. Juanita remained in Snyder until 2016, when she relocated to San Angelo, to be near her son.

Prior to becoming a full-time housewife and stay-at-home mom, Juanita also worked at West Texas State Bank, a local attorney's office, and in her husband's boot and shoe repair business. During her life, Juanita fulfilled the roles of beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, and Believer in Christ, loved by God. She was a long-time member of Northside Baptist Church, and later, First Baptist Church, both in Snyder. She often said that her opportunities to travel, during her later years, were the best times of her life. She especially enjoyed visiting New York City and Washington, D. C.
