June Bellamy

Mrs. Avis June (Gatewood) Bellamy, 90 of Snyder,TX passed away Saturday, July 07, 2018 at Covanant Medical Center in Lubbock.

June is survived by her daughter, Jan Bellamy-Genee (Douglas), DeCordova, TX.; and one grand-daughter, Romey LeiAnne(Hall) Kreiner (Joe), Raleigh, N.C.

She was pre-deceased by her husband, James (Jay) Henry Bellamy, in March 1985; her little sister, Glora Fay Gatewood (1943); and her parents, Romey Dee Gatewood (1969) and Lovie Ladonna (Hanna) Gatewood (1996)

June was born March 2, 1928, in Harrold, Texas and grew up in Sudan. June and Jay married July 13, 1947.June, Jay and her parents moved to Scurry County to follow the oil boom in the early 1950's.

June taught as a teacher's aid for two years (1964-66) at the former Central Elementary School before going to work at the county tax office, from which she retired in 1984. June was a long-time member of East Side Church of Christ.

Services for Mrs. Bellamy will be held on Tuesday, July 10, 2018 , at 10:00 AM at East Side Church of Christ in Snyder, Texas. Graveside services will follow at 4 o'clock PM at Sudan Cemetery, Sudan, Texas. Services are under the direction of Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home.

Visitation will be held Monday, July 09, 2018 from 6 PM to 7 PM at Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home.
