Mrs. Kaye Cypert, 86, of Snyder, TX died on Wednesday, December 27, 2023, at Good Life Assisted Living in Snyder, TX.
A Funeral Service for Mrs. Cypert will be held on Tuesday, January 2, 2024, at 11:00 AM at First Baptist Church with Dr. Marty Akins officiating and assisted by Pastor Ben Reid. The service will be live-streamed on the Facebook page of First Baptist Church, Snyder. Internment will follow at Hillside Memorial Gardens. Services are under the direction of Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home.
Kaye Cypert was born on June 9, 1937, in Ardmore, OK to Stanley and Lucille (Toone) Kiespert. She was involved in many organizations including Delta Gamma at Oklahoma University. She played in several local bridge clubs and was a member of the Womens Golf Association. She was also a member of First Baptist Church, Atheneum Study Club and Cogdell Women's Auxiliary "Pink Ladies."
As a young woman, Kaye lived with her family in Japan. While there, she taught English to Japanese girls at the YWCA and made a friendship that continued after her return to the U.S. and to OU. After college, she moved to Dallas and became a clothes buyer in a well know women's dress shop. She made several trips to New York City and organized several style shows.
On April 7, 1962, she married the love of her life and high school classmate, Jack Cypert in Ardmore, Oklahoma. Newly married, they started out in Tulsa, Oklahoma before moving to Snyder in 1973. She loved being able to help and serve others through her work at the funeral home. But, her greatest joy was her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She treasured each one and made all feel special. Our Mammee was never too busy to visit, answer the phone, or give advice.... she will always be known for the saying - "it's just a suggestion!" But, we all knew she meant it.
Kaye was an avid golfer and played in many tournaments around West Texas and made many friends along the way. She loved working in the yard, gardening and landscaping. She and Jack enjoyed traveling the world with their special friends from FDLIC and have lots of special memories. She never met a stranger and instantly made everyone feel at ease. She was sweet, kind, loving, funny and her laughter could fill any room. She was very up to date on any sporting event (on multiple tv's) and could give a very accurate weather report on any location in the world. We always joked she missed her calling as a meteorologist.
She will be greatly missed by many.
