Lena was born February 4, 1943 in Snyder, Texas to Whit and Mattie (Campbell) Farmer. She married Kelton J. Clark on December 28, 1969 in Ira, Texas. He preceded her in death on June 27, 2009.

Survivors Include two sons and daughter-in-law, Kory and Abby Clark of Amarillo and Jay Clark Markham of Aledo.  Sisters-in-Law Carolyn Barbee of Ira and Joanna Clark: brother-in-law and sister in-law Drew and Theresa Clark of Abilene.  Three Grandchildren, Avery Clark, Chandler Markham and Leslie Markham.  Many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. And special friend and caregiver Carolyn Withers.

Preceded in death by her parents Whit and Mattie Farmer of Ira, Texas, Husband Kelton J. Clark of Ira, Texas, Brothers Bill D. Farmer of Casper, Wyoming and J.H. Farmer of Abilene, Texas, Daughter-in-Law Amy Clark of Amarillo and Brother-in-Law Jay Lynn Clark.

Lena grew up in Ira and graduated from Ira High School where she excelled in basketball and was involved in many other extracurricular activities.  After high school, she moved to Farmington, NM with her brother and sister-in-law before moving back to Ira where she spent the rest of her life, marrying Kelton , raising a family and being active in the Ira community.  She was a member of the Ira Church of God for over 40 years.  Her faith and serving others were a primary focus in her life.   If someone was in need, she was always willing to help any way she could.  Taking food to someone that was sick or injured, running errands for those that could not provide for themselves or helping to cook for the Church’s youth groups, she stayed busy serving others. That included her family where she made countless trips to Amarillo and Graham to provide support for her two sons and her grandchildren when they needed her the most.

She loved spending time with her many friends and traveling to country and western dances throughout Texas.  It was nothing for her and friends to drive 2.5 hours one way to a dance and then drive back home late in the evening.  She had a passion for life and brought joy to all of those that were lucky enough to call her a friend.

She was an inspiration to her family and those that had the pleasure of getting to know her.   She lived her life with grace and humility and will be forever missed by her family and many friends.
