Luther Avon Rushing

Mr. Avon Rushing, 91, of Snyder,TX was ushered into the presence of Jesus on Sunday, April 11, 2021 in Lubbock, Texas.

Services for Mr. Rushing will be held on Friday, April 16, 2021, at 2:00 PM at Calvary Baptist Church with Reverend Larry McAden and Reverend Matt Lowry officiating. Interment will follow at Hillside Memorial Gardens. Services are under the direction of Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home.

Mr. Rushing was born on August 19, 1929 in Yantis, TX to Luther Elton and Artie Mae (Spencer) Rushing. He married Wanda Teston on July 19, 1950 and they shared almost 71 years of marriage. Avon accepted Christ as his savior as a young boy and served the Lord as a member of Calvary Baptist Church. He was considered a pillar of the church and mentor for many. He was kindly referred to as “Brother A.” His memory will live on for generations because of his faithfulness, sacrifice and devotion to his church family. He was an awesome man of God that left an everlasting legacy for all that knew him.
