Maggie Lou Barnes

Mrs. Maggie Lou Barnes, 92 of Snyder,TX died on Friday, October 27, 2023 at Snyder Oaks Care Center in Snyder, Texas.

Services for Mrs. Barnes will be held on Tuesday, October 31, 2023, at 10:00 AM at Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home with  Reverend Danny Williams officiating. Internment will follow at Hillside Memorial Gardens. Services are under the direction of Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home.

Mrs. Barnes was born on March 29, 1931 in Polar, TX to Howard Eldrige and Sadie Adeline (Dunlap) Shifflett. She married T. C. Fagan on January 6, 1950. He preceded her in death February 24, 1952. She later married Lawrence Barnes on September 2, 1960. He preceded her in death October 29, 2010.

Maggie was a  member of the Apostolic Faith Church and Lighthouse Assembly of God. She was a nurse and received her RNC  from Methodist School of Nursing in Lubbock, TX. and received her BSN from West Texas State University. She worked for Cogdell Memorial Hospital for 21 years. Maggie was director of nursing homes and Home health and taught nurses aid classes. She also made quilts for Missionaries. Maggie graduated from Loop, Tx and even wrote a book on the history of Polar in the depression.
