Margaret Louise Gleastine, 77, of Snyder, passed away after a brief illness on January 15, 2024.
A funeral service for Mrs. Gleastine will be held Saturday, January 20, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Ben Reid officiating. Internment will follow at Hermleigh Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home.
She was born on January 11, 1947 in Athens, Texas, to Joseph and Edith (Williams) Griggs, being the eldest of 8 children. She married Billy Gleastine on February 2, 1973, and were together for 50 years, raising their two daughters and welcoming 5 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. After marrying her husband, Billy, they moved to Snyder where Margaret worked for Snyder Oaks Care Center for many years.
Anyone who knew Margaret knew how much she enjoyed collecting dolls, collecting cookbooks, trying new recipes, cross stitching and sewing, and getting together with her family.
Margaret's favorite role was that of a grandmother. She treasured her time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren and loved being their Nanny. We will miss her "Nanny toast," "Nanny heaters," and all the stories she would tell of her childhood.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Cathy Ann Clakley; and brothers, Billy Griggs and Michael Randel "Rocky" Griggs.
She is survived by husband Billy Gleastine; sisters, Ruth Baker, Shirley Davis, and Debbie; and husband Wayne Kimery; brother, Jack Griggs; daughters, Patty Gleastine and Christie and Husband Peter Horgan; granddaughters, Jada and husband Daniel Burk, Kira and husband Javiel Rowe, and Macy Hartman; grandsons, Zach and Connor Horgan; great grandchildren, Hannah and lan Burk.
