Mark Wynn Whitmire

Mr. Mark Wynn Whitmire, 65 of Snyder,TX died on Wednesday, February 16, 2022 at his home in Snyder.

Services for Mr. Whitmire will be held on Monday, February 21, 2022 at 10:00 AM at East Side Church of Church with Mr. Tim Brown Jr. officiating. Internment will follow at Snyder Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home.

Mark was born on November 29, 1956 in Brownfield, Texas to Marvin and Evelyn (George) Whitmire. He married Trena Bayes on August 14, 1998 in Lovington, New Mexico. Mark was a graduate of Texas Tech University and Sunset School of Preaching. He received his masters of Bible Ministry from Lubbock Christian University. Mark dedicated his life to serving God and others. He served as a preacher at Seagraves, Muleshoe, Merkel and Jayton Church of Christ. He started Scurry County Youth Outreach, a counseling service for at-risk kids, Jayton Children’s Home, and was a caseworker with CPS. In his free time, Mark loved Tom Petty, playing his guitar and was an avid fan of Texas Tech Sports. Some of his greatest joys were watching his kid’s high school sports’ teams and later spending time with his grandchildren.
