Opalene Dora Brown

Mrs. Opalene Brown, 96 of Snyder,TX died on Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at Cogdell Memorial Hospital in Snyder.

Services for Mrs. Brown will be held on Saturday, January 19, 2019, at 2:00 PM at Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home with Dr. Tommy Culwell officiating. Internment will follow at Hillside Memorial Gardens. Services are under the direction of Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home.

Opalene Brown was born on February 26, 1922 in Williams (Poker Bend), OK to William and Rena (Keeney) Darneal. She worked as a ward clerk at Cogdell Memorial Hospital and retired after 24 years. She attended Colonial Hill Baptist Church and loved watching Texas Rangers baseball and spending time with her family.

She is survived by four daughters; Joyce and Bill Stephens, Snyder, TX., Judy Ashley, Lubbock, TX., Betty Reed, Big Spring, TX., Patty and Jay Ross, Lubbock, TX., one son; David and Betty Richardson, Deming, NM., ten grandchildren; Billy and Kendra Stephens, Lubbock, TX., Laura and Wayne Davis, Snyder, TX., Richard and Becca Ashley, Summerville, SC., Angela Ashley, Lubbock, TX., Wendi and Chris Cleland, Central , AZ., Sandi and Bret Jackson, Odessa, TX., Jarin Yarbrough, Big Spring, TX., Matt Lovelady, Denton, TX., Ben and Megan Hargrove, Lubbock, TX., Haleigh and Rhuston Rock, Lubbock, TX.; one sister;June Johnson, Poteau, OK.; twenty two great grandchildren and twelve great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one son-in-law; Ray Ashley, one grandson; Gregg Ashley, two brothers; Raymond and Loyd Darneal and three sisters; Catherine Skelton, Nell Rogers and Elda Walker.
