Mrs. Patsy Jean Graves, 86, of Snyder, went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, September 20, 2023.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, September 23, 2023, at Hillside Memorial Gardens in Snyder with Pastor Ryan Ford officiating. Services are under the direction of Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home.
Patsy was born April 9, 1937, in Lamesa, Texas, to Pat and Ethel (Hightower) Patterson. She married William Clay (W.C.) Graves on February 4, 1955. The two were the apples of each other’s eyes, the best of friends, and true loves to the end of their lives. They leave behind a beautiful example of what marriage should be. Through thick and thin, good and bad...the two were inseparable for the 67 years they shared. When asked recently to reflect on her long life and name a favorite part, she referred back to her and W.C.’s time in Breckenridge when their boys were young. Those boys…Pat loved her sons fiercely and was always in their corner. She raised a tight-knit family in which she instilled love and the value of treating others as you would treat yourself, all the while managing a house full of boys with an iron fist. Patsy was “Big Mama” to her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Always dressed to the nines, she was the great listener, the giver of advice, the owner of the best cackling laugh, the keeper of NO secrets, and the one in charge. We all gladly followed her lead, learned from her, and will continue her legacy as we move forward in life until we meet her again. Big Mama, you will be treasured always and remembered as the glue that binds us together. We rest easy knowing you are in the arms of Jesus, laughing and dancing with Papa, and catching up with Nan.
Patsy is survived by her three sons, Greg Graves and wife Carol, Guy Graves, all of Snyder, and Mike Graves and wife Tonya of Big Spring; a brother, Mike Patterson and wife Sue of Abilene; eight beloved grandchildren, April Graves Fletcher (Shawn), Clay Graves (Mandy), Nathan Graves (Amanda), Amanda Graves Oliver (Levi), Tyeson Graves (Lyndsey), Macy Graves Plenert (Dalton), Tyler Graves (Elizabeth), and Meagan Graves (Nicholas); her precious great grandchildren, Jett, Luke, Ella, Emily, Tripp, Trevor, Kellan, Aiden, Mia, Jadyn, Azlyn, Logan, Lark, Caedin, Mickey; special friend Jacqueline Alarcon; and God children Hunter and Hailey. She is preceded in death by her parents, Pat and Ethel (Hightower) Patterson, and her adoring husband of 67 years, W.C. “Digger” Graves.
