After 54 years of marriage, she preceded him in death on February 23, 2009. He spent his working years as a mechanic for Chevron Corporation. He was known in a variety of roles, husband, father, uncle, cousin, grandpa, mentor and great friend. He always put God first and loved the Bible. The amount of people who showed up to pay their respects is only a testimony to the lives he personally touched. He loved all his grandchildren and great grandchildren as he loved his own. Family meant everything to him. He wanted his yard to look nice and his grass to be green and always made sure everyone ate at our family barbecues. He was a hard worker and never met a stranger. He had a contagious smile with a great sense of humor. His secret to a long and happy life was positive thinking and even toward the end, he never complained. He will always be loved, but especially missed by all who knew him.

“We had a wonderful father and grandfather,

One with a mind that never really grew old;

His smile was made of sunshine,

and his heart was made of gold!”
