Mr. Ramon Lopez Valadez, 70 of Snyder,TX died on Saturday, April 20, 2019 in Sweetwater, Texas.
Services for Mr. Valadez will be held on Thursday, April 25, 2019, at 2:00 PM at First Baptist Church with Pastor Steven Pena and Reverend Ramon Valadez III officiating. Internment will follow at Snyder Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home.
Mr. Valadez was born on May 07, 1948 in Snyder, TX to Salome and Anita (Lopez) Valadez. He married Rosa Prendez on November 21, 1964 in Snyder, TX.
Ramon was a loving son, husband, father, uncle and friend. Most importantly his greatest pleasure was being a loving pawpaw. His family was his world and he would often say the greatest gift God gave him. He had a special love for each and everyone of his children and grandchildren, they were his pride and joy. He was the families protector and fixer upper man. Ray's brothers shared that he he was like that even as a boy as long as they could remember. If you knew Ramon well, you were aware of his love for sports. His passion was baseball and he passed it on to his family. He loved to teach the grand kids "his skills" and could be found in the backyard with a glove, ball and bat in hand. He also loved old cars and taking a ride in his Harley Davidson motorcycle. Ramon had a giving heart and never forgot his roots, he would give his last dime to a friend or stranger in need.
He had a work ethic like no other and could be found many times in his coveralls and hard hat helping his crew. He began his career in the oilfield 47 years ago at Universal, formally C&J, as a floor hand working his way up to Operations Specialist. Ramon had no high school diploma, but instilled in his children the importance of an education and most importantly his work ethic values. His employees were like family and he worried about them when the oilfield would crash. He would make his rounds all over West Texas & the Permian Basin to the many friends he had made over the years to drum up business. The burden of them not working and being able to provide for their famlies laid heavy on his heart.
Ramon was a man with little words but a heart of gold. He loved unconditionally and will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. His legacy will continue with the values he instilled in his children and grandchildren.
