Richard (Bear) Jean Hardin

February 18, 1932 — July 13, 2023

Mr. Richard "Bear" Jean Hardin, 91, of Lubbock,TX and formerly of Snyder, died on Thursday, July 13, 2023, at Crown Point Health Hospital in Lubbock.

A Graveside Service for Mr. Hardin will be held on Saturday, July 15, 2023, at 10:00 AM at Hillside Memorial Gardens with Reverend Elliott Powell officiating. Services are under the direction of Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home.

Richard (Bear) Hardin was born on February 18, 1932, in Loraine, TX to E.J. and Ina (Cary) Hardin. He moved to Scurry County as a 10 year old attending schools in Hermleigh and Snyder. He married Peggy Houston in April of 1951 and they enjoyed 72 years of marriage together. In 2007, he moved to Lubbock to be near his son and family. He worked for Chevron in Snyder for 35 years, plus 7 retired years with Cynara-Dow Chemical. In Lubbock, He was a member of Southcrest Baptist Church and the Cornerstone Bible Study Class. While he lived in Snyder, he was a member of Avenue D Baptist Church and First Baptist Church for over 50 years. He was an avid golfer until his health declined and spent many years involved in the lives and activities of his sons, Jerry and Joey. He volunteered as a bus driver to deliver of Meals on Wheels at the Scurry County Senior Center. He was known and will be remembered as a kind and caring man.

Ryan, Rachel, Ally, Olivia, Chloe, and Anna Grace Aycock, and

Greg, Lauren, Charlotte and Collins Aycock.

He was preceded in death by his
