Samuel Hubert Clements

May 28, 1926 — September 5, 2023

Mr.Samuel Hubert Clements, 97 of Snyder,TX passed away on Tuesday, September 5, 2023 in Snyder.

Samuel Hubert Clements was born on May 28, 1926 in Vernon, Texas to Samuel Ruben and Lillie Belle Clements. They resided in Farmers Valley, Texas where he attended school. His family moved to Loraine, Texas in August of 1936. They lived in Loraine until he left for the service in 1945. Hubert was a Seaman, First Class in the Navy during

WW II. He served in the Navy for a year and a half. When he returned home his family had left Loraine and moved to Ira. The family farmed when they moved to Loraine and when Hubert returned home from the Navy he resumed his farming career. He married Helen Suiter on February 17,1956 in Lovington, New Mexico. They had one son, Keith Clements.

Hubert is survived by one son, Keith, and daughter in law, Carla, 3 grandchildren, Morgan Preston and husband Clay, Kali Pinson and husband Wade, Corbin Clements and Breanna, 5 great grandchildren, Brooklyn Preston, Cutter Preston, Landry Pinson, Karter Pinson and Camryn Clements.

Hubert spent a lifetime farming with his two brothers in an undivided partnership.  After his brother Tommy passed away, his son joined the family farming business. Hubert and his brother, Harvey, both retired in 1997. Even though he was retired, he continued to help on the farm by driving a tractor every chance he could. The last time he drove a tractor, he was 89 years old. He still wanted to drive after that but it was just to hard for him to climb up in the cab.

Hubert had the biggest heart and was always available to assist those who needed a helping hand. He loved to tell stories to anyone who would listen.

Hubert accepted the Lord as his personal savior when he was 54 years old. He was a deacon at the First Baptist Church of Ira and taught the Men’s Sunday School class for many years. He loved studying the Bible and he loved telling others about Jesus. He would stop and pray with and for anyone who he thought needed it. He loved his family, his church, and his Savior and he will be greatly missed.A big thank you to all of the ladies at Good Life Senior Living for all of their love, care, and friendship.
