Mrs. Shirley Gayle Wittie, 87 of Snyder,TX. passed away on Sunday, January 8, 2023 in Snyder, Texas.
Services for Mrs. Wittie will be held on Friday, January 13, 2023, at 2:00 PM at Colonial Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Greenfield and Pastor Reid Johnson officiating. Internment will follow at Hillside Memorial Gardens. Services are under the direction of Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home.
Gayle was born on January 23, 1935 on a ranch near Lueders, TX. to Troy Lee and Ruby Gayle Wright. She married Don Wittie on December 20, 1952.
Gayle graduated from Kermit High School in 1953. She received a Bachelor's and Master's degrees from Angelo State University. She went on to teach first grade in Colorado City and at Northeast Elementary in Snyder until she retired in 1993.
Gayle was a long time member of Colonial Hill Baptist Church and Atheneum Club. She and Don went on Church Building trips to several states for many years. Volunteering at the Food Cupboard and delivering Meals on Wheels were their favorite things to do. She loved to travel and see the world.

She was preceded in death by her husband Don and her parents, Troy and Ruby Wright.

Visitation will be held Thursday, January 12, 2023 from 6 PM to 7 PM at Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home.
