A graveside service for Mrs. Ivison will be held on Monday, August 03, 2020, at 11:00 AM at Snyder Cemetery with Hospice Chaplain Kinney Robinson officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home.

Thelma Lee Ivison passed from life peacefully July 29, 2020 just shy of her 103rd birthday.
Thelma was born in Scurry County on September 22, 1917 to Minus (Mike) Cannon and Jeanie
Belle (Ola) Burditt. She was raised by her Uncle Owen and Aunt Doll McClure after Ola died
from the Spanish flu in 1918. She graduated from Snyder High School in 1936 and went on to
earn her Registry in Nursing at King’s Daughters Hospital in 1939. She married the love of her
life Ira Truman Ivison December 9, 1939. They resided in Snyder, Texas until 1964 then moved
to San Angelo, Texas.

She is preceded in death by her father Minus Cannon (Mike) Burditt, mother Ola Thompson
Burditt, stepmother Myrtle Burditt, brother Maurice (Son) Burditt, son Ira Truman Ivison II and
great granddaughter Kacee Taylor.

Thelma is survived by daughters Helen & Eschol Lee of Waco, Texas, Lynda & Jerry Kruse of
Odessa, Texas and devoted daughter-in-law Susan Ivison of Odessa, Texas. Grandchildren
Darrell & Janetta Kruse, Kevin & Tiffany Lee, Connie Kruse, Amanda Theodore & Tim Babcock,
Kyle & Ashley Lee and Angela & Brian Shrum. She also leaves behind numerous great
grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.

Thelma loved music, dancing, camping and fishing. She played bass guitar in a band for many
years and loved all her bandmates and friends. She loved working in the yard and maintained
her own yard with a little help from her walker until the young age of 100. She enjoyed her
family and playing cards, dominos and board games. She could be heard hollering "stick it to
‘em" when the game got intense. She was ornery, stubborn, strong willed, funny, and she never
held back her opinion. Whether you called her Thelma, Mom, Grandma, or GG, if you called
you better be ready for her quick wit, lively opinion and sage wisdom.
She is loved dearly and leaves a huge legacy for the loved ones to carry on the values that she
instilled in them and lived by every day.

Visitation will be held Monday, August 03, 2020 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home.
