Thomas (Tommy) Wayne Galyean was born February 4, 1942 in Snyder, Texas to Cecil and Blanche Galyean. A veteran of the armed forces, Tommy served in the US Army from December 9, 1963 to December 8, 1965. On December 1, 1971, he married the love of his life Sandra, and the couple remained together for more than fifty years. Together, they had two children Thomas (Tom) Galyean and Sonya Rodriguez.
Tommy was preceded in death by his parents, his two brothers Mack and Joe, and his son Tom. He is survived by his wife Sandra, his daughter Sonya and husband Michael Rodriguez, and his two grandsons Clayton Galyean and Patrick Rodriguez, and countless friends and loved ones.
A lifelong resident of Snyder, Tommy was a member of Colonial Hill Baptist Church. He worked for Arrow Construction, Snyder Ambulance Service, and Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home.
A die-hard fan of the Dallas Cowboys and the Dallas Mavericks, Tommy was also a dedicated superfan of Snyder High School sports and Western Texas College basketball. When he wasn’t sitting courtside at the Coliseum, Tommy could be found working in his yard, playing with his dogs, or spending time with his friends and family. Tommy also loved seeing the world, traveling many times on family vacations to Northern California, Hawaii, and Walt Disney World.
A very special thanks to Valerie and Susan Pena, his VA caregivers at the end of his life.
Always one to bend your ear with a story or a joke, Tommy was a friend to everyone and a member of our community who will be dearly missed.
