Tommy Joe Baker

Tommy Joe Baker, 77 passed from this life on April 21, 2018 after a courageous battle with cancer.

Funeral service will be held Saturday, April 28th at 2 PM at Colonial Hill Baptist Church in Snyder, Tx. with Dr, Tommy Culwell officiating. Services are under the direction of Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home.

Tommy joined the Army National Guard January 31, 1958 as a Security Policeman and served 4 years and 4 years inactive.

Tommy married Kathleen McMillan in Sedan, KS June 6, 1962. That was the beginning of their love filled life together.

After his time in the Army National Guard he did what he loved, working as a cowboy on the Floyd Mills Ranch in Kansas. Tommy worked in the oil field for Koch Industries then, FMC, Meter Check and Angus Measurement. Prior to moving to Snyder, Tx. he co-owned and worked an oil lease with his father-in-law, John McMillan in Peru, Ks. Snyder has been their home for the past 25 years.

Tommy's favorite past times were team roping, Calf Roping, Golf (getting a hole-in-one), spending time driving Kathleen around the countryside enjoying nature and enjoying his time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Gene Baker;Two Sisters, Lena Mae Houser and Linda Coyendall.

Survivors include his wife Kathleen Baker of Snyder; One Son, Troy and daughter-in-law, Nancy of Stanton, Tx.; Two Daughters, Lisa Buff and son-in-law, Kevin of Abilene, Tx.; Sara Grinslade and son-in-law, Rob of Andrews, Tx.; and seven grandchildren, Tyler Baker, Megan Baker, Holly Buff, Kelsey Buff, Emily Buff, Wyatt Cole, and Abby Grinslade. And his brother, Gary Baker and sister-in-law Mary Helen of Harper, KS and brother-in-law, Jon Coyendall of Harper, KS.

Visitation will be held Friday, April 27 from 6:00 to 7:00 PM at Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home
