Tommy Wayne Cotton, 76, of Snyder, passed away February 2, 2022 in Big Spring, TX with family members by his side.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 5, 2022, at Bell Cypert Seale Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Rocky Alexander of Ira Church of God officiating. Services are under the direction of Bell Cypert Seale Funeral Home and will be livestreamed at www.bellcypertseale.com.
Tommy was preceded in death by one son Ronnie Wayne Cotton, brother Dale Cotton and wife Jo, brother Bruce Cotton, one sister, Joyce Mitchell and husband Lyn, sister-in-law Luvenia Fowler and husband Horace, brother-in-law L.M. Dawson, sister-in-law Pearl Nettles and husband J.W, sister-in-law Oleta Hamje, his parents Lloyd Wayne and Bertha Mae Cotton.
He is survived by his wife Sue, two sons William Cotton and his wife Julie and Michael Cotton, daughter Tracey and her husband Brian Hilburn of Poolville,TX, sister-in-law Nada Cotton, sister-in-law Edith Dawson and brother-in-law John Taylor and wife Linda. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren, Jessica McMullen and her husband Colby, Seth Cotton, Kellner Odom, Jared Cotton and his wife Katy, Hunter Cotton, Aaron Palacios, Braden Palacios, Layton Hilburn, Lillie Hilburn and many cousins, nieces and nephews including his cousin and best friend, Kent Holmes. He was blessed with 4 great-grandchildren, Deklan Cotton, Maren McMullen, Jensen Cotton and Micah McMullen.
Tommy resided the past 3 years at the Lamun-Lusk-Sanchez Texas State Veterans Home where he was loved and cared for by the memory support staff. Tommy worked with passion for years helping the mentally handicapped of Scurry County. He dedicated many years coaching youth sports, helping and teaching his kids and grandkids and touching the lives of the children on his teams throughout the years. He is fondly remembered as coach and affectionately referred to by many as “Grandad”. He spent countless hours driving across the state of Texas following his grandchildren and enjoying their numerous events, whether it be sports, band, cheerleading or dance. He was one proud Grandad.
He will be missed.
