Mrs. Virginia Lee Johnston, 97, of Snyder,TX, died on Wednesday, September 13, 2023, at Snyder Oaks Care Center in Snyder.
A Funeral Service for Mrs. Johnston will be held on Saturday, September 16, 2023, at 2:00 PM at Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home Chapel with Hospice Chaplain Kinney Robinson officiating. Internment will follow at Hillside Memorial Gardens. Services are under the direction of Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home.
Mrs. Johnston was born on September 6, 1926, in Snyder, TX, to Fred and Nettie (Davis) Martin. She married Dale Johnston on November 24, 1944 in Snyder. After 71 years of marriage Dale passed away in 2015. Virginia graduated from Ira High School in 1943 as Valedictorian. She had many jobs working with numbers of the Tax and Appraisal Offices in Scurry County. She had many talents, one being her memory. In 1947, she delivered her only son Fred Harrison and in 1952, her only daughter, Rebecca Ann. She was a long time member of First Christian Church. After retiring, she served as a Pink Lady at Cogdell Hospital for many years.
